The Grande Bibliothèque, a vast public space 33,000 metres square in the heart of Québec's largest city, is an exceptional cultural rendez-vous providing open and free access to more than four million documents, including more than one million books, more than one million other documents (periodicals, compact discs, audio and videotapes, DVD’s, reference books, computer programs, etc.) and more than one million microforms. Moreover, it offers 350 computer stations, 44 stations for listening to discs and cassettes, 50 stations for viewing films, four lecture rooms, four training rooms, and 21 meeting and research rooms.
Each week, nearly 58.000 persons come to the Grande Bibliothèque. Since its opening in April 2005, 13.1 million visitors have attended to the Grande Bibliothèque and the BAnQ has 261.343 active users. Among them 68.594 (26%) have subscribed online. Approximately 1.100 new patrons subscribe every week.
Each week, more than 95.000 documents are borrowed in average. Nearly 68% of the documents are borrowed or renewed autonomously by the users with self-service stations or online. To the Marsh 31st 2009, the catalog has 2 million records. During the year 2008-2009, 1.4 million visitors have consulted the catalog on the BAnQ portal.

The digital network of Quebec public libraries (RIBG) contains over 40 libraries and documentation centers in various ministries and agencies of the Government of Quebec.
This Network offers to its member libraries the possibility to use the integrated library system PortFolio to computerize the operations related to accessions, clerical operations, indexing and circulation of documents. In addition, the system allows management periodicals (Kardex). Of the five available modules for managing collections, only the catalog module, used for creating and updating the catalog is mandatory for members.
Managed by a support team, the Network promotes the exchange, cooperation and consultation between member libraries in order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the management, operation and evolution of the network.

As the province's principle legal library, the CAIJ plays a critical role in providing information to lawyers, legislators, legal aides and judges via 38 networked branches across the province. With a comprehensive Smart Card Solution from ISACSOFT, the CAIJ has significantly extended the facility's services to provide round-the-clock access while requiring fewer personnel.
Over 8,000 CAIJ members are now equipped with smart cards and members enjoy comprehensive access to all CAIJ facilities and services including: physical access, photocopying and printing and can manage credit via a secure website. The Multiservice Card Management System (MCMS) allows administrators to set varying privileges and access levels.

The Laval municipal library network provides an electronic catalog of more than 700.000 documents, accessible on the premises and online. It offers its patrons free access to computers (70 workstations), daily updated lists of the library’s new releases by categories, book suggestion profiles, compact and DVD discs and other, enhanced with hyperlinks and PDF documents and the possibility for the users to keep track of documents and researches. Each year the libraries loan more than 2.5 million documents to more than 70.000 users.

Cascades is a leader in the manufacturing of packaging products, tissue paper and specialized fine papers. Internationally, Cascades employs 15,000 people, operates close to 150 modern and versatile operating units located in Canada, the United States, France, England, Germany and Sweden and is now equipped with BiblioMondo smart card technology in order to consolidate employee access and services, and expand service offerings using the same cards.
Installed on access doors and vending machines, the system now serves more than 20 plants with nearly 100 readers, 9 card service centers and one secure Web site for transferring cash on Epurses. The system handles more than 3000 cards with the various applications.
1500 employees have their multiservice smart cards that they use for various applications such as; access control, specialized machinery control, and payment in the vending machines of the plans. The smart card solution can be managed by multiple administrative stations on remote sites that communicate using the Cascades network as well as the Internet.
